The mamas behind it

It started with something we wanted for our own children: the confidence to do things on their own.

As moms, we know the happiest moments are the little victories. When a child tries something on their own, succeeds, and proudly says “I did it,” that's the moment real confidence is built. It's not loud and it doesn't need an audience. It's just a kid, trying something, and realizing they actually can.

For Jessica, the idea began while watching her daughter at home, completely lost in a cartoon, cheering for the hero on screen like she'd follow her anywhere. And Jessica started thinking: her daughter wasn't just enjoying the story. She was looking up to someone else entirely. So what if, instead, she could look at a screen and see herself? Not a character to admire from the couch, but her own name, her own face, her own moment of being brave.

She brought the idea to her best friend, Ashley, who had spent years thinking about this from a different angle: the connection between how a child sees themselves and how willing they are to try new things. It's expert-backed, not just a feeling. A child who sees themselves as capable tries more. A child who tries more builds real confidence. And that only really sticks when the child is the one at the center of the story, not someone they're watching from the outside. Together they brought in Jennifer, whose background is in animation and visual storytelling, to help bring it to life. The three of them created a personalized story starring Jessica's daughter. Not a hero she looked up to. Her. Her name, her voice, her own moment of trying something hard and doing it. When she saw herself on screen, she whispered, “that's me.” Then she got up and actually tried the thing. That simple moment sparked @Sunnyclips.

As three moms, we combined our own experiences raising our kids with an expert-backed approach to child development and storytelling, because we saw how a personalized story, one where a child is the hero instead of just watching one, could turn an everyday moment into something they feel proud of.

From our family to yours, here's to every little victory that helps your child grow.

  • Jessica Wilder (Founder)

Jessica is the one who started it all. She's a mom first, and @Sunnyclips exists because of something she noticed watching her own daughter: “Kids don't just need a hero to watch, they need to see themselves as one.”

Jessica leads with that idea in everything the company builds, always asking the same question before anything ships: “Will this make a kid feel capable, or just keep them busy.”

  • Ashley Monroe (Child development)

Ashley is passionate about the connection between a child's sense of self and their willingness to try new things. Her perspective is EXPERT-BACKED, rooted in real child development thinking, not just instinct.

She believes confidence isn't something you tell a kid they have, it's something they build by seeing themselves actually do the hard thing. That belief shapes the way every @Sunnyclips story is written.

  • Jennifer Sterling (Children's Illustrator)

Jennifer specializes in bringing ideas to life through animation and visual storytelling. She's the reason a story doesn't just sound right, it actually holds a child's attention. Her focus is on the small details, pacing, expression, the little visual moments that make a child feel like they're really looking at themselves, not just a character who looks a little like them.

Little steps. Big moments.

And you don't have to figure it all out alone.

A mom and her toddler on a playground bridge

We want you to know who's actually behind this, before you trust us with your child's story.

We are a group of moms at @SunnyClips. We started this because we kept watching our own kids light up over the smallest things, like tying a shoe, trying a new food, or sleeping in their own bed for the first time. We realized those small moments deserved to feel like the big deal they really are.

So we built a way to turn your child into the hero of their own story, facing the exact thing they are working on right now, and succeeding on their own terms. Not because we are doing it for them, but because we want to show them they already can.

From our family to yours, here is to every little victory that helps your child grow.
