How is a story supposed to teach my child anything?

By showing them doing it, you make it feel normal. Your child watches themselves brush every tooth or walk through the school gate, so the real moment feels familiar. And it sticks, because the child doing it is them, not a cartoon animal they forget by morning.

You can watch it together, keep it playing on the TV, or print the story book and leave it by the bed, where it gets read again and again for years, until they feel proud doing it themselves.

Afterwards you both have something to point back to: "Remember when you did it in your story?"

What changes in how my child sees themselves?

A small child builds their idea of who they are from what they see themselves do, and most of what they see is the hard part: the refusing, the crying, you asking again.

The story gives them the other side. They watch themselves, in their own room, finishing the thing, and it ends on their own name: "Mila did it!" Watch it a few times and "I can't" starts turning into "I did that one", and that is what they carry into the next try.

What if the thing I am facing is not here?

We have stories for every moment, grouped by what you are up against: daily habits, bedtime, fears, big emotions, family changes, school, goodbyes.

If yours is still not there, you still can write it in your own words. A sentence or two is plenty, and the story is built from that with the same care as any other.

Will my child recognize themselves?

Yes. We read their look from one photo, the hair, the eyes, the shirt, the pet's collar, and keep it exactly the same in every picture and every episode, so they see themselves every time. A clear photo of their face is all it takes, and you upload it once. Here is what happens to that photo.

What happens to our photos?

Accepted Answer

They stay private to your account and are only used to draw your characters. Nothing is shared, sold, or used to train anything. Delete a character and their photo is deleted with them.

Is it safe for my child to watch?

Nothing here is left to chance. We build every story the same way, under the same rules. Nothing scary, nothing unsafe. Every story ends on the win.

There is nothing else in the app either, no ads, no chat, no feed that keeps playing. You pick the moment, the cast and the look, so nobody and nothing shows up that you didn't ask for. Their photo is treated with the same care: see how we handle photos.

Is this just more screen time?

A story is short. Watch it together or keep it playing on the TV, and when it ends, it ends: there is no next video to ask for.

Or skip the screen altogether. Every story also comes as a printable story book, the same pictures on paper by the bed. That is the one they bring to you and ask for again, and it is still there years later.

Who can be in the story?

Up to five characters: your child, a parent, a sibling, a pet. One is the hero and the others help, but they never take over, so the story stays about your child.

You can set the place too, from a preset or a photo of your own room, so the story happens where the real moment will. Nobody appears who you did not add: no invented teachers, friends or strangers.

What do I have to do for this to work?

Very little. Pick what you are about to face, pick who is in it, and press make. Then watch it together, keep it playing on the TV, or print the story book and leave it with them. When the moment comes, say the lines we already wrote for it, so you are not searching for words. That is the whole job, and it takes less time than one more round of asking and parenting.

Is there a free story?

No, and here is why. Every story is made from scratch for your child: new pictures of their face, in the look you picked, written and narrated for the moment you chose. Nothing is reused from another family, so nothing about it is cheap to make.

Starter is $9.99 a month for 5 stories, and you can pick the moment, the cast and the look for free before you pay. If a story fails on our side, making it again costs you nothing.

I never know what to say. Does this help with that?

Yes, that part is already written for you. Every moment comes with the lines to say afterwards, made for that exact moment: "You got every tooth tonight, top and bottom." You are not hunting for the right words while they melt down, and the story does the reminding, not you.

Can I cancel? What happens to what we made?

Accepted Answer

Yes, cancel any time from your account. Everything you downloaded stays yours, on the phone, the tablet or the TV, and so does every story book you printed. Billing and cancellation are spelled out in the Terms of Service.

What is my child building over time?

Accepted Answer

Real lessons, one moment at a time. Every moment is built around one, like Doing it themselves, Being brave or Bouncing back. The tree in My stories shows which lessons they have practiced and which are still waiting, a leaf at a time, so over a few months you both watch the branches fill in.

What ages is this for?

Accepted Answer

Two to eight. Under two they will not follow the story yet, and past eight most kids find it babyish, so a conversation works better than a cartoon. In between, every moment is tuned for their age, toddler, little kid or big kid, so the words and the story fit where they are.

What does a story look like?

A short film of drawn pictures, about 30-60 seconds long, with a line of narration on each in the voice you choose, ending on a proud card with your child's name.

You pick the look: 3D Movie, Cartoon, Classic Cartoon, Storybook or Felt. Every story comes in portrait for the phone, landscape for the TV, and as a printable story book, so it works wherever you are.

Can we keep going with the same story?

Yes. Pick the same moment and the same cast again and it becomes the next episode of their series. Each episode is a new story, not a replay, so a habit can be practiced as many times as it takes without getting old.

Yes. Download any story and it is yours to keep, on the phone, the tablet or the TV. Every story also comes as a printable story book, so the same pictures can live on paper next to the bed and get read on the nights you skip the screen.
